commonly used rubber seal material

2.1 Nitrile butyl rubber

Nitrile butadiene rubber has excellent fuel oil resistance and aromatic solvent performance, but not resistant to ketone, ester and hydrogen chloride and other media, so oil resistant sealing products and using nitrile butadiene rubber.

2.2 Neoprene rubber

Neoprene rubber has good oil and solvent resistance. It has good resistance to gear oil and transformer oil, but not aromatic oil. Neoprene rubber also has excellent weather aging and ozone aging properties. The cross-linking breaking temperature of neoprene rubber is above 200℃, and it is usually used to make door and window seals. Neoprene rubber also has good corrosion resistance to inorganic acids. In addition, because neoprene also has good flexure and air permeability, it can be made into diaphragm and vacuum sealing products.

2.3 Natural rubber

Compared with most synthetic rubber, natural rubber has good comprehensive mechanical properties, cold resistance, high resilience and wear resistance. Natural rubber is not resistant to mineral oil, but is stable in vegetable oils and alcohols. In the hydraulic brake system composed of brake fluid mixed with n-butanol and refined castor oil as a sealing rubber bowl, rubber rings are made of natural rubber, the general sealant is also commonly made of natural rubber.

2.4 fluorine rubber

Fluorine rubber has outstanding heat resistance (200 ~ 250℃), oil resistance, can be used to manufacture cylinder liner sealing ring, rubber bowl and rotary lip sealing ring, can significantly improve the service time.

2.5 silicone rubber

Silicone rubber has outstanding high and low temperature resistance, ozone resistance and weathering resistance. It can maintain its unique use elasticity, ozone resistance and weather resistance in the working temperature range of -70 ~ 260℃. It is suitable for the production of sealing gaskets needed in thermal mechanism, such as strong light source lampshade sealing ring, valve gasket and so on. Because silicone rubber is oil resistant, low mechanical strength and expensive, it is not suitable to make oil resistant sealing products.

2.6 EPDM

The main chain of EPDM is a completely saturated straight chain structure without double bonds, with diene on the side chain, which can be sulfurized with sulfur. Epdm rubber has excellent aging resistance, ozone resistance, weather resistance, heat resistance (can be used in 120℃ environment for a long time), chemical resistance (such as alcohol, acid, strong alkali, oxidant), but not resistant to aliphatic and aromatic solvent erosion. Epdm rubber has the lowest density among rubbers and has the characteristics of high filling, but it lacks self-viscosity and mutual viscosity. In addition, EPDM has outstanding steam resistance properties, can be made steam resistant diaphragm and other sealing products. Epdm has been widely used in washing machines, television accessories and door and window sealing products, or a variety of complex sections in the production of rubber strip.

2.7 Polyurethane rubber

Polyurethane rubber has excellent abrasion and good air permeability, the use of temperature range is generally -20 ~ 80℃. In addition, it also has moderate oil resistance, oxygen resistance and ozone resistance aging characteristics, but not acid and alkali resistance, water, steam and ketones. Suitable for manufacturing all kinds of rubber sealing products, such as oil seal, O ring and diaphragm.

2.8 Chlorane rubber

Chlorinated ether rubber has the advantages of nitrile butadiene rubber, neoprene rubber, acrylic rubber, its oil resistance, heat resistance, ozone resistance, fire resistance, alkali resistance, water resistance and organic solvent resistance are very good, and has good process performance, its cold resistance is poor. In the use of temperature is not too low, chlorane rubber is still a good material for the manufacture of oil seals, various sealing rings, gaskets, diaphragm and dust cover and other sealing products.
