SKF is establishing a global network of specialized technology and service centres that will provide marine solutions for improved, sustainable fleet efficiency and predictability.
“Our expertise applies to machinery systems on a range of ship types, from oil and gas fleets and pipe-laying vessels, large container carriers and cruise ships to highly specialized research vessels and workboats,” says SKF Global Marine Segment Manager David LH Johansson.
The first SKF Marine Industry Service Centre opened in January 2012 near Rotterdam in the Netherlands. With a team of more than 30 engineers providing a wide range of services and products, the centre also includes facilities for training and certification.
SKF is planning additional marine centres in Asia and Latin America.
