The Bureau of Reclamation seeks information on firms able to repair or remanufacture guides and thrust bearings at 2,078-MW Hoover Dam on the Colorado River in Arizona and Nevada. Responses are due Nov. 26.
Reclamation recently awarded a $1.5 million contract to Andritz Hydro Corp. to supply four impulse turbine runners for Hoover.
In a sources sought notice, the agency now seeks information on firms capable of reconditioning thrust and cast steel shell turbine guide bearings ranging in weight from 2,000 to 3,700 pounds. Firms also should be able to fabricate babbitt bond gauge blocks and provide detailed drawings of the original and finished condition of the bearings.
Reclamation anticipates issuing multiple contracts with a base year and four one-year options. The estimated magnitude of each task order is $25,000 to $100,000 with a total contract value of each contract awarded of between $100,000 and $500,000.
