Aegir Insights, a technology start-up in offshore wind and power-to-x intelligence, has secured investment from energy sector leader Jon Erik Reinhardsen, alongside other investors
Mr Reinhardsen, who is making a private investment in the firm, is currently chairman of Equinor and is a former chief executive of geoscience firm PGS.
In a statement, the company said the investment and board support “will accelerate Aegir Insights on its growth journey as a premium intelligence and software provider to project developers, governments and sector investors.”
Further to the investment, management and technology consultancy BearingPoint has been appointed as Aegir Insights’ advisor, supporting it on the path to future funding rounds and growth.
Mr Reinhardsen said, “I have been impressed by Aegir Insights’ journey, rapidly positioning themselves as a premium, tech-enabled analytics business. Aegir’s advanced data and software are helping deploy more renewables, faster.”
