As Endress+Hauser assumes sales responsibility in Canada for the Kaiser Raman spectrographic instrumentation portfolio from Kaiser Optical Systems, Inc., the handover coincides with the introduction of Kaiser Raman Rxn analyzer suite, featuring Raman RunTime control software for 24/7 connectivity to critical data.

Kaiser, a part of Endress+Hauser since 2013, specializes in Raman spectrographic analysis technology. Previously, Canadian customers had to work directly with Kaiser in the U.S., as they did with SpectraSensors, another U.S.-based Endress+Hauser company that specializes in TDLAS and QF analyzers. Now, both companies’ products are sold locally by Endress+Hauser Canada.

What distinguishes the new embedded Raman Rxn analyzer suite from older systems is that it dispenses with the need to run proprietary software using a separate, standalone computer to convert raw measurements into usable data. Embedding the spectrometer functions into the analyzer electronics promotes productivity by offering a common interface for use in the laboratory to process development and manufacturing.

The Raman Rxn portfolio, comprised of the Raman Rxn2 and Rxn4 base models, integrates analyzer and control software in a fixed-purpose device with built-in intelligence.

Each collects in situ process measurements, enabling real-time process monitoring, optimization and control. With 24/7 automation, companies can maintain a continuous pulse on the safety, quality, and efficiency of their operations whether in laboratory or manufacturing settings.

The Raman RunTime software provides constant real-time access to process data via a touchscreen interface or remote access. It conveys either raw or processed data and diagnostics over standard communication protocols –including OPC and Modbus – to assure data integrity and compatibility with third-party devices. It thus embodies the Industry 4.0 strategy of increased data security, system integration, and automated communication
