The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) is now offering emerging technology webinars starting in April. The webinar series will occur on the first Wednesday of each month and presenters will be subject matter experts who share information on the latest technology affecting manufacturing. The webinars are available to AGMA members for free and are $29 for non-members.
The AGMA emerging technology committees were developed in 2017. The committees now span four areas of focus: robotics and automation, IIoT, electric drive and 3D Printing. The webinars fulfill the mission of the committees to identify, investigate and inform AGMA members of emerging technologies that may disrupt or significantly impact the power of transmission industry.
“The webinar series is a reflection of the work of the members of the committees. These experts will provide information on relevant and important topics and I urge you to check out the series,” said Mary Ellen Doran, AGMA, director, emerging technologies.
The series will start with the following companies and presenters:
1.April - Jon Powvens, director of cybersecurity for MxD
2.May - Brett Smith, director, technology – Center for Automotive Research
3.June - Kel Guerin, PhD, co-founder and CIO - READY Robotics
4.July - Graham Immerman, vice president of marketing – MachineMetrics
5.August - Mike Dovorany, vice president, automotive and mobility – Escalent
The webinar series was made possible by the AGMA Foundation, which for more than 25 years the AGMA Foundation has been supporting education endeavors for the gear industry. The Foundation has provided more than $300,000 to students pursuing engineering degrees or technical experience with 86% of recipients still working in the industry.
