FREQUENT Q/A

How do bearings distinguish between high speed and low speed

SINO BEARINGSMay 10, 2022

The method of distinguishing high-speed bearings and low-speed bearings is as follows :1. It's different from the rotational speed. 2. Differentiate by appearance. 3. Separate from the material. 4. Separate from the end.

1. Distinguish from speed.

It is not that the speed of the bearing itself is different, but that the internal structure of the bearing is different. The bearing belongs to high speed or low speed is divided by its linear speed. Many low-speed bearings can rotate tens of thousands of times per minute, while some high-speed bearings can rotate only a few hundred times per minute. In addition to their names being related to their linear velocities, there is a difference in the rotating parts of their structures. Generally speaking, the rotating parts in low speed bearings are round, some are cylindrical or even conical, while the rotating parts in high speed bearings are mainly bearing bushes.

2. Be different from appearances

If you must distinguish high-speed bearings from low-speed bearings in appearance, you can see the surface roughness. Generally speaking, the appearance of low-speed bearings is rough and the connection between parts is loose. In order to ensure its accuracy and accuracy, high-speed bearings usually have very smooth surfaces, and the distance between the inner ring and the outer ring is very small, so the accuracy will be much higher.

3. Separate from the material

Another point is that high-speed bearings and low-speed bearings are slightly different in material. High-speed bearings generally use high hardness steel, can withstand the pressure of parts caused by too high speed, and ordinary bearings if the speed is low, use some common materials, do not need to bear too much pressure, so the hardness and durability of the material requirements are relatively reduced a lot.

4. Separate from the end.

High-speed bearings are generally used inside the machine and lubricated by liquid bearing oil. If the bearing is not used for motor high-speed power cars, high-speed bearings can also be lubricated with solid bearing oil. In general, high-speed bearings are used inside the engine transmission differential, while low-speed bearings, such as hub bearings, are used in the chassis.
