Plastic bearings are self-lubricating on general working surfaces. Plastic sliding bearings are generally made of good engineering plastics. Professional manufacturers generally have self-lubricating modification technology of Engineering plastics. Engineering plastics are self-lubricating and reinforced by fibers, special lubricants, glass beads, etc. to achieve certain performance, and then self-lubricating plastic bearings are processed by injection molding with modified plastics.

Plastic sliding bearings have the following characteristics:
 
1. Plastic bearings are all lubricating materials with long service life.

Plastic sliding bearings can be made not only as bushings but also as plastic linear sliding bearings, provided that the material made must be self-lubricated and improved to improve its comprehensive wear resistance. For example, the common plastic linear bearings in the market are made of materials modified by lubricants and engineering plastics with reinforcing fibers, which have excellent wear resistance.
 
As plastic sliding bearings have many advantages over metal sliding bearings, the production of plastic bearings is increasing, and the use of plastic bearings is also continually extended. From fitness equipment to office equipment, automotive industry and so on, plastic bearings are used. Vehicles on highways do not use plastic bearings.
 
POM plastic bearings, PP plastic bearings
 
POM and PA materials have good mechanical strength and wear resistance, they are suitable for producing relatively precise plastic bearings. Their working temperature ranges from -60 ~100 C, surface strength is high and smooth, and there is no tension basically. Their good self-lubrication performance and low friction coefficient can be used for precise and high speed operation on the basis of maintaining the traditional advantages of plastic bearings. POM plastic bearing is one of the most widely used plastic bearings. Generally, POM or PA is used for inner and outer balls and glass fiber reinforced nylon 66 (GRPA66-25) is used for holders. The ball is glass ball, stainless steel ball or ceramic ball, which performs well in alkaline environment but is not suitable for operation in acid corrosion environment. Characteristic:
 
1. High rigidity and hardness, high impact strength even at low temperatures;
 
2. Excellent elasticity and good creep resistance;
 
3. High heat resistance and very good dimensional stability;
 
4. Good sliding performance and wear resistance;
 
5. Physiological inertia, suitable for food contact.
 
6. Not resistant to strong acids and oxidants, poor adhesion paint

HDPE, PP, UPE materials have been proven to be suitable for relatively weak acid-base cross-environment (30% Cucl2 solution and 30% NaoH solution for testing OK) and therefore for most acid/base/salt/solution/oil/gas and seawater corrosive environments. It has the properties of oil-free self-lubrication and anti-magnetoelectric insulation of general plastic bearings, but its mechanical strength is low and it is easy to deform. Therefore, such acid-base resistant plastic bearings are not suitable for heavy loads and high speed, in order to overcome the shortcomings of such acid-base resistant plastic bearings. In comparison, UPE has better strength, low friction and low temperature application characteristics (down to -150 C). Generally, inner and outer ring materials are HDPE, PP or UPE, holder materials are HDPE, PP or UPE, and ball materials are glass ball, stainless steel ball or ceramic ball. In this way, the comprehensive performance of acid-base bearing will be greatly improved. Characteristic:
 
1. Good corrosion resistance, various corrosion media and organic media within a certain temperature and concentration range
 
2. High mechanical strength and shear toughness at liquid nitrogen temperature (-196 C)
 
3. Good self-lubrication and high wear resistance
 
4. Strong adhesion resistance
 
5. Extremely low water absorption, excellent electrical insulation
 
6. Good resistance to high energy radiation

PTFE high temperature and corrosion resistant plastic bearings
 
PTFE and PI, as new engineering plastics, have been proved to have good dimensional stability and high temperature resistance in mechanical strength of all known engineering plastics. Among them, the long-term service temperature of PTFE is 260 C and that of PI is 300 C. Moreover, PTFE and PI have excellent corrosion resistance and can operate freely in medium strength acid-base corrosion environment. Therefore, PTFE or PI are generally used to make outer ring materials, and Zro2 or Si3N4 ceramic balls are generally used as ball materials. The disadvantage of bearings that operate precisely in harsh environments is that the material itself is expensive and therefore expensive to use.
